The perfect time to serve our simple family recipe for French pancakes is for breakfast, afternoon tea, or dessert. They are traditional, ultra-thin, sweet pancakes. Serve them alone either rolled or folded.

In any situation, this cake batter is easy to prepare, even for the novice cook, and it saves planning time. I have tried to be as clear as possible to help you by taking you to step by step through your cakes.

French pancakes come in two flavors: sweet and savory.

Sweet French Cakes

Ingredients

  • ·       250 grams of flour
  • ·       eggs 4
  • ·       0.5 liters of milk
  • ·       1 liter of salt
  • ·       50 grams of cheese
  • ·       1 packet of vanilla sugar

Procedure

Step  1

Add flour and eggs to a bowl. Then, while the mixture is being combined, slowly add the milk. Add a pinch of salt and vanilla sugar.

Step 2

If possible, let the hotcakes rest for an hour. When the grill is hot, add a little butter to soften the food.

Step 3

Pour a small amount of pancake batter into the frying pan, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Step 4

The pancakes are ready, and now you can taste them.

For pancakes

1 Free-range egg

50 grams of plain flour

Milk, 150 ml.

One tablespoon of olive oil

For the filling:

40 grams of grated cheddar cheese

40 grams of boiled grated chicken

One free-range egg.

10 g spring onion for serving

Procedure

Step 1

All of the components for the pancakes, minus the oil, should be beaten into a smooth batter.

Step 2

Brush a small amount of the olive oil into the hot frying pan while it is still on medium heat.

Step 3

When the pan is hot, slowly pour in just enough batter to cover the bottom and swirl the pan to get an even coating.

Step 4

When the pancake is movable and has a brown underside, flip it.

Step 5

Place the chicken and cheese on top of the nearly finished next side.

Step 6

To create a square, fold in each side.

step 7

Put your cracked egg into the empty slot.

Step 8

With your spatula, press the sides down to seal as the cheese melts.

Step 9

Cook the egg for 3 to 4 minutes, or until it turns white.

Step 10

Place the omelet under the grill for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until the yolk is just starting to cook, depending on your preference.

Step 11

Before serving, I like to top it with chopped chives.
